On August 23rd, the 10th China (Guangzhou) International Elderly Care and Health Industry Expo (referred to as Guangzhou Elderly Expo), which lasted for 3 days, successfully concluded in Zone B of the China Import and Export Commodity Trading Exhibition Center.

As one of the core professional exhibitions of the 34th Guangzhou Expo, this year's Old Expo marks an important milestone of its 10th anniversary. It is hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal Government, with specific responsibilities from the Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau, Guangzhou Cooperation Office, and Guangzhou Expo Organizing Committee. With the theme of "Picking up Light and Sharing the Chain, Silver Hair New Ecology", it has been iteratively upgraded into a hub for the entire silver hair industry ecological chain, showcasing Guangzhou's solid exploration and fruitful achievements in deepening urban elderly care and activating the silver hair economy.

Linking global resources and achieving significant results in supply-demand integration

The exhibition area of this year's Old Expo reaches 50000 square meters, attracting 433 participating companies from 17 countries and regions to gather in Yangcheng, forming a health and wellness resource aggregation effect centered on the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and radiating throughout the country. Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and other cities in the Greater Bay Area will participate in the exhibition, showcasing the unique achievements of regional elderly care services, and effectively promoting the interconnection and coordinated development of elderly care industry resources in the Bay Area. The participating entities include civil affairs institutions, industry associations, academic research institutions, elderly care operation institutions, as well as Fortune 500 companies, listed companies, specialized and innovative enterprises, fully demonstrating the national radiation and internationalization level of the exhibition.

A total of 91739 professional visitors and citizens have been attracted to visit, and 75 groups from various cities (including Guangzhou districts) across the country have attended the conference for exchange, effectively connecting communication channels between the industrial, application, and consumer ends. According to statistics, the on-site transaction volume during the exhibition was 13.62 million yuan, 36 industrial cooperation contracts were signed, and the intended cooperation amount was 767.3 million yuan.

This exhibition focuses on the core development of the silver economy ecological chain, and innovatively creates a "1+7+N" themed scene exhibition area around the seven key development tracks of new quality productivity and silver economy. Among them, the non-invasive brain computer interface intelligent electric wheelchair achieves real-time control by collecting multimodal signals of user head movement, eye movement, and EEG, and is currently serving the population of ALS patients; Intelligent walking assistance robots integrate "automotive grade intelligent driving" technology, with obstacle warning, automatic braking, and assisted driving functions; The interview style AI memoir product preserves inheritable spiritual wealth for the elderly through a "real person interview+AI creation+manual editing" model.

Some of the exhibits exhibited during this exhibition were jointly developed by the Guangzhou Silver Hair Economy Public Laboratory, which was established and put into use at the 9th Guangzhou Elderly Expo. After being tested and verified by senior citizens in Guangzhou, the technology products were launched to ensure that they truly meet the needs of elderly care scenarios.

The award ceremony and achievement exhibition of the 2nd Guangzhou Smart Health Care (Suitable for the Elderly) Equipment Innovation Design Competition were unveiled at this year's Old Expo, officially announcing the "Top Ten Product Innovation Awards" and "Top Ten Innovative Design Awards". A series of cutting-edge elderly friendly technology products, including AI moxibustion robots with precise and stable techniques, intelligent "electronic family members" that provide warm companionship around the clock, and rehabilitation exoskeleton devices that help disabled elderly people stand and walk, have been showcased to comprehensively demonstrate innovative breakthroughs in the field of smart health care, using hard core technology to solve the problem of elderly care.

The competition results display area allows high-quality works of the competition to directly face national elderly care operation institutions, channel distributors, and industrial investment institutions in the first time after the competition, expanding market docking channels and achieving "exhibition after the competition, discussion after the exhibition, and landing after the discussion", building a fast track from the competition venue to the market for innovative equipment.

Strengthening policy guidance, the silver hair ecosystem continues to soar

In recent years, Guangzhou has anchored its two major positioning as the "National Silver Hair Economy Leading Territory" and the "National Elderly Friendly Demonstration Area", continuously improved its policy system, and activated new driving forces for the development of the silver hair economy. At present, there are over 18000 operating entities in the silver economy sector in the city, with an industrial scale of over 357 billion yuan. Seven elderly friendly life experience centers and two silver consumption complexes have been built, and 20 new silver economy scenarios in five categories have been released. At the opening ceremony, the Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau signed a tripartite agreement with the Municipal Health Commission and Guangzhou Health Care Group to jointly create the "AI+Smart Medical Care" service model.
